Link to Prompt Table: This way...

Luna twirled and danced, laughing all the while. She liked visiting Blaise at The Vale. The gardens here held no bad memories for her. She picked a handful of daisies, ones Callista had planted (or ordered someone to plant) just for her. She wandered over to where Blaise was sitting at a small table under a Rowan tree and grinned. "Help me make daisy jewellery?"

Blaise set aside the potions tome and picked up two of the flowers. "What am I to make you, little raven, a necklace or circlet?"

He knew she enjoyed all the little things that her mum had once done with her. He didn't mind that most of aforementioned activities were more appropriate for small children. He may only be thirteen, but he could see that Luna clung to things that helped her remember the happy times spent with her mum. He also knew that she truly did believe in all the creatures her father searched the world for. She'd confided that her mum used to encourage the 'hunts', always saying that 'if you don't believe in the improbable then what fun is life'.

"Why so serious," she said teasingly, plopping into his lap.

He smiled, scooting her so he could reach around her for the flowers. "You know me, always bloody serious. No fun at all and all that."

She huffed playfully before turning enough to kiss his cheek. "I think you're fun. Who else would put up with me and all my odd habits?"

He was looking over her shoulder, concentrating on the flowers in his hands as not to become angry over her words, well not too angry anyway. "You are yourself, Luna. Why should you try and be like the others?"

He sighed, kissing her brow and continued twisting the flowers together jsut as she'd taught him to do. "You are the bright spot in my world, don't you know that?"

She wriggled around so that she could look him in the eyes. She was sad, deep down inside, when she laid her hand on his cheek. Didn't he understand that it was only with him that she felt like she belonged? Didn't he get that she would never be happy at Hogwarts? "You grew up too fast, Blaise, and everyone thinks I haven't grown up at all."

He nearly growled. It took all he had in him not to pick her up and set her in the other chair before going out and finding every last person that had said such things to her. He knew her reasons for clinging to the last remains of her carefree life and he damn well didn't ever want to see the day that she no longer danced through the garden, or made daisy chain circlets, or believed in heliopaths, or... He sighed heavily. "Luna, listen to me very carefully."

She nodded, her eyes wide, her hand still on his cheek. "I am listening, Demon. I always listen to you."

"Good," he said softly. "I adore you just the way you are. I don't care if we find ourselves right here, doing this very thing," he said, lifting the flowers for emphasis, "when we are thirty. Every little thing about you, from your fear of storms to the way you ignore the idiots that don't understand you make you who you are. Do not ever change until you want to. Got it?"

She nodded slowly, wondering if he knew that it was his constant support, his determination that she be whoever she wished to be that gave her the ability to ignore those who made fun of her. Did he know that Padma always offered to Floo Slytherin's common room to get him when it stormed? Did he know all the little ways that he protected her? He had to, didn't he? Determined to show him how much she adored him, she smiled sweetly. "You say that now, but will you say the same in five years?"

He just laughed.
